Leigh Bennett has flown the flag for the MBD squad with a breathtaking victory in the 300m final. Coming from 11m Leigh was close to 20m behind with 100m but swamped home to take the win in comfortable fashion in the end. His time of 33.16 shows that he is in great form for the season ahead
Leigh also finished 5th in the final of the 110m gift earlier in the day.
Merimbula Womens Gift winner Christine gates also had a busy day competing in the 110m Gift and also the 60m and 100m events on the day.
The 2015 edition of the Queanbeyan Gift has been run and won and once again the weekend has lived up to the reputation of being the best carnival in the country.

The squad also featured heavily in semi finals of the Women’s and Men’s gift with 3 athletes running 3rd in their semi and missing the final by one spot (Sarah, Melissa and Leigh)
Special mention to Jonathan for competing in his first gift since joining the squad and it was also great to see Kayla back on the track and competing.
