Chloe Cleans up in Hobart

15 year old hurdling sensation Chloe Jamieson has completed a rare triple gold medal trip to Hobart at the Australian All Schools Championships.

Chloe not only won the under 16 90m Hurdles and 200m Hurdles but also ran up an age group to take gold in the under 17 400m Hurdles as well.

It is her performance in the 400m Hurdles that put everyone on notice when she broke through the 60 second barrier running 59.66 seconds. This time took over 1 second off the record held by Lauren Boden who is a 3 time national champion, former World Youth silver medallist and also coached by Matt Beckenham.

The 200m Hurdles time of 27.25 was an Australian record but this performance is even more incredible considering she ran this race into an extremely strong headwind of 2.5m/s.

To round out the championship Chloe took out the sprint hurdle event in a time of 12.74 which was just outside her lifetime best of 12.73.

Jamieson will now have a break over Christmas before preparing for the Australian Junior Championships in Sydney in March which will serve as the trials for the World Junior and Olymmpic Youth Championships.

Jamieson breaks her own National Record

MattyB DEPT. only competitor in Hobart this weekend 15 Year Old Chloe Jamieson has broken her own 200m Hurdles Under 16 Australian Record in the heats at the Australian All Schools Championships in Hobart.

In cold but still conditions Chloe run a blistering 27.50 to be the fastest qualifier by over 2 seconds.

She did appear to ease up before the line so it will be interesting to see what she can run in the final.

Chloe has the final on Saturday and will also compete in the 90m Hurdles and the under 17 400m Hurdles at the championships.

The MattyB DEPT. has a very strong tradition in Women’s 400m Hurdles at this meet. The squad has won 4 national junior titles in recent years with Lauren Boden and former squad member Brittney McGlone collecting 2 titles each.
