In a small meet in Germany today Lauren Boden and Melissa Breen showed that they are well and truly settled into Europe with fantastic performances.
Competing at Dormagen, Melissa commenced the day with her fastest ever run in Europe. She won the 100m in a time of 11.38 (0.8w). Unfortunately the winds did not play in her favour in the 200m where she again took victory in a time of 23.73 (-2.0w).
Lauren competed in the 400m flat race today and running from the outside lane she dominated the race to cross the line half a second faster than she has ever run and the first time under 53 seconds. Her time of 52.82 is a great sign of things to come as this race was at the end of a week that was designed to replicate rounds at the Olympic.
“MattyB gave BJ and I a huge hurdle session on Thursday and then another high intensity running session on Friday so to come and smash my PB today is exciting for London” Boden said after her race.
Breen and Boden will both run at Bottrop on the 6th July while training partner Brendan Cole will race at Liege on the 5th before also joining the girls at Bottrop to again prepare him for rounds at the Olympic Games in August.
