With just over one month until the World Juniors, Grant Billingham ran a 400m time trial in Canberra today. Assisted by training partners Brendan Cole and Brendan Matthews he was able to cross the line in a great time of 47.7.
Grant will have his first official run at the AACT High Noon meet on 13th June. He will then head to the Gold Coast for a World Junior Camp in late June before competing in Vancouver and then Moncton for the World Junior Championships. With several other boys running well including an awesome 47.31PB for Steven Solomon the 4 x 400m team is shaping up as a real contender for a medal.
Melissa Breen also had a little hit out over 100m (@11.3 hand time) but is in heavy training in preparation for the Commonwealth Games in October.
